The Daisy & Vic Schneidman Educational Scholarship

This opportunity is available to JFCS clients and their family members, clinicians, and staff.
Founded in 2023, the Daisy and Vic Schneidman Educational Scholarship Fund was established to support members of the JFCS of Long Beach & Orange County community in accomplishing their goals of higher education. As a former educator, Vic recognizes the importance of higher education and the financial struggles some have experienced by pursing college and beyond. Daisy and Vic have great appreciation for how JFCS helps to train the next generation of therapists, psychologists, and social workers.
“Education is key to financial stability, and Daisy and I want to help those who could use the financial and emotional boost that comes with being awarded a scholarship,” said Vic. Daisy added, “The money is important, but knowing that someone cares enough to create a path to success for someone else may also inspire the awardee to give back to the community as they are able.”
Schneidman scholars are leaders in their communities and have a desire to help others. These scholars have demonstrated a passion for learning and are committed to pursuing their educational and career goals.

To date, the Schneidman scholarship has provided $57,500 to JFCS clients, clinicians, and staff.
Minnie & Clarence Schulman Young Jewish Voices Scholarship
The Minnie & Clarence Schulman Young Jewish Voices Fund engages local high school or college age Jewish students (18-24 years old) to participate in advocacy and community organizing in support of issues important to the Jewish Community.
The application for the 2026 award cycle is CLOSED. Please check back in early 2027 for the new cycle.
About the Scholarship:
Scholarships are awarded annually to two young adults who identify as Jewish for the purpose of attending the Jewish Public Affairs Committee of California Summit each May in Sacramento to network, hear important speakers and to meet with State elected officials. Awardees will also get the opportunity to join the JFCS CEO during the remainder of the year to meet other elected officials and assist with advocacy. Applicants must reside or attend educational institutions in Long Beach or Orange County and be 18-24 years of age on or by May 1st on the year of application. The scholarship covers conference registration, airfare, local transportation, shared hotel and some meals. Winners are notified in March.
