Volunteering is a personal choice to give to others without expectation of compensation or reward. It can be as simple as sharing time and connecting with someone to using skills and knowledge in a project that benefits others. Volunteering can be a richly rewarding experience for everyone involved, and it can be an inherently satisfying and fulfilling way to give back to a community that can, in turn, support and nurture others.
The simple act of offering your enthusiasm, skills and knowledge will positively impact the lives of others, as well as your own. Every person has something unique to offer that will provide immeasurable benefits to society and perhaps foster needed improvements and change for the benefit of all.
Volunteer opportunities include:
Board Service
Chesed Committee: Creating joy throughout the year for individuals and families in need. Examples of activities include back to school backpacks, Thanksgiving meals, and Adopt-A-Family.
Special Events: Participate on an event committee serving in a role that helps fundraise and creates awareness for JFCS in the community.
Refugee: As a newly named refugee resettlement agency, JFCS is looking for dedicated volunteers to support this new program.
